Objectivos: We aim to stress the positive effects of the games on building young people's personality, developing their self confidence, and let them to be outside of the rooms and be in the street or in the nature freely and learn from each other by moving, jumping, etc. By means of that, we try to improve intercultural dialogue among European Union Members and keep peace in the world.
Descrição: Our project is about street games which are about to disappear from the young people's lives and the streets. Because of internet and digital games young people forgot about playing games in the street or in the nature and they got more addicted to internet, computer and digital games. As a result of this, young people started to have obesity problems, get isolated from social life and lack of communicative skills. In order to prevent this, We aim to bring youngsters from different parts of Europe to get together and play traditional games of their own countries together in the street or in the nature. Through the games, they will learn about partners' culture, tradition, and language and they will be more aware of similarities and differences among European countries and will be more restpectful to differences. Since games are one of the most enjoyable way of learning, participants will try to practice intercultural way of learning. By means of the games, they will learn to act in teams and cooperate together irrespective of nation, sex, religion, language and culture. They will use English to be able to communicate each other and They will be more motivated to learn other European languages such as Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and Crotian. The project will last 8 days. Each participating country will make presentations about their own culture , tradition, music, folk dance and local food at cultural nights. During the project activities, Intercultural learning will be implemented and non-formal learning methods will be used. Besides this, we will make Youth in action Programmes more visible in the local society by means of exhibition of photograhphy and art work of youngsters about the project. At the end of the Project all games, photographs, and activities will be collected in a book and a CD/DVD.
