Resumo: Many young people think that incomes in rural areas are lower than those in the urban areas and that there are fewer career opportunities. This idea contributes to the drastic increase in the number of young people who underestimate the potential of rural areas and leave their countries to move to big cities in search of better opportunities.
However, countries in rural areas have their strengths and opportunities. RURAL POWER aims to raise awareness among young people with fewer opportunities on the potential of rural areas, train and inspire them to start new businesses, and raise awareness about the benefits that rural entrepreneurship can produce in their communities. We intend to reduce youth unemployment, develop rural areas and increase social and economic cohesion.
Objectivos: The main activities include:
• Interactive workshops on rural business, start up, business planning and cultural aspects;
• Generation of new entrepreneurship ideas using rural sector; Discussions in non-formal
environment;
• Info sessions with local people;
• Visit to rural enterprises of Mileto;
• Analyses of relevant video materials;
• Specialized group exercises, games, quizzes, and much more. Since the project goal is to reach the public and disseminate the results effectively: special photos & videos, as well as a website will be prepared by the participants.
Alojamento: We will be accommodate in Bed & Breakfast Lolly. The rooms are with 3-4 beds, with private bathroom Towels are NOT provided. Please bring it with you!
Perfil: 36 young people that are in a period of uncertainty, with a lack of guidance for the development of their professional and personal paths. Youth with different social and cultural backgrounds, in particular young people who come from rural areas and who fall into the NEET category. People who had few opportunities to travel or meet peers from other countries, who have never had a career guidance or guidance path living in territories with a strong employment problem.

All the participants MUST a valid EU healthcare insurance card
Descrição: The Main Activity Room is located at the same building, but we’ll do some of activities outdoor and someday we’ll go to other towns. WiFi internet connection is available (however, might be a bit limited). Organizers will provide participants with three meals per day and coffee breaks. Food will be served at the accomodation canteen.
Basic Rules:
All the participants will be expected to be present and active in all the activities, unless being ill. Unauthorised absence from the activities and workshops won’t be tolerated. Smoking is prohibited everywhere inside buildings, thus all the smokers will have to go outside or to specially designated areas for a cigarette. We expect you to respect and protect the property of the farmstead and those who fail to do this will be punished accordingly. Stress, nerves and bad mood is prohibited everywhere. Bring your best mood and big smile with you and keep it through the exchange!:) Prepare for fun! Those who fail to do that will be expelled from the project!.
Material Necessário: Each of the participating countries should:
1. Bring all travel documents as presented above;
2. Find interesting videos / games / exercises / educational activities on the topic of the project.
3. Prepare energisers that could be done in the morning.
4. Prepare for your country’s cultural evening. Please, try to be fun and creative for this!:) No one likes regular presentations! Any kind of activities are welcome (e.g. video presentations, dances, songs, games, quizzes, posters, flyers etc.). If you can please bring traditional clothes
5. Prepare a presentation about a topic related to the objectives of the project (in country teams). We’ll post the topics that you can choose from a bit later :). Follow the information!
6. Each of you individually has to bring a souvenir (e.g. with your country design, creative, or funny). At the end of the project you will exchange these gifts with one another so that you would have a thing to remember!
7. If you have relevant experience connected to rural entrepreneurship please let us know beforehand.
