Descrição: The youth exchange "YOUth inspires Europe" will take place in the summer of 2018 in Oeiras, Portugal, and born in a moment when Europe faces multiple challenges and where it is necessary to find the strength and inspiration to respond to them, for example through the Europe 2020 strategy towards smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. We want to live in an inspiring Europe, of all, for all, where each young person plays a decisive role. From June 1 to 14, 2018 (including travel days), 43 young people from 18 to 25 (35 of whom with fewer opportunities) will be in Oeiras to celebrate European diversity.
The project involves 6 organizations from Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Spain and Italy. Each group consists of 6 participants and a leader.
The Portuguese group will have 2 leaders. During this period, young people will participate in various non-formal learning activities linked to European diversity, where we hope to highlight the cultural similarities and differences of each country and highlight the richness that each brings to the construction of an European identity. We hope in this way to help break the existing stereotypes in relation to each of the countries and contribute to the development of a more inclusive Europe. We are all responsible for active citizenship and it is important to help young people reflect on this. The young people will have the chance to know the local community and to have contact with the portuguese culture and habits and share at the same time their own culture with the other members of the group.
Some of the non-formal education activities are:
*Volunteering activities (with elder people, animals, and in favor of people in need)
*Group work about citizenship, Erasmus + program, recycling, Europe 2020
*Market of Cultures
*Intercultural Evenings
*Cultural Visits to Lisbon and Sintra
*Sport and Beach activities
*Photovoice
*Final Commitment
At the level of local and national impact, exchanges through the interaction of young people from different countries with the local community aim to promote the exchange of experiences and realities, broaden horizons and improve European awareness of stakeholders and contribute to breaking down stereotypes and ideas Preconceptions. Through volunteering activities, young people will benefit local institutions and their users, so that they can test on the spot some of the knowledge they have acquired. By involving policy makers in the project at various times, young people will be able to feel the impact of their actions and policy makers will have the opportunity to listen to young people on a variety of topics, gain insight and learn about how problems identified in others are solved Countries. This will be a key moment in the rapprochement between young people and policy makers, thereby helping young people to identify with democracy and with the values defended by the European Union. For the partners, the project will allow them to improve their skills and services through the exchange of experiences. This will also be the starting point for the creation of new projects. At the international level, we would like this exchange to effectively contribute to the 2020 Strategy and to the achievement of the objectives of the Strategic Framework for European cooperation in education and training 2020 ('FY2020') and the 'renewed European cooperation framework In the youth sector '(2010-2018).
It is time to give force to Churcil's words in 1946: "There is a remedy that ... can make Europe in a few years ... free and ... happy. It is to recreate the European family or at least that part of the family that we can unite again, and give it a framework within which it can develop in peace, security and freedom. " It is time for young people to become active in building an effectively inspiring Europe.
