Resumo: The Youth Exchange “Intercultural spirit in rural area ” is promoted by the Rujienas youth initiative center youth group.
Our activities will be outdoor activities, sport games, art workshops. Group leaders are welcome with good proposals from there countries how they feel intercultural spirit in their home towns.
By the project participantfes will learn different cultures from the representing countries, and they gain more understanding each other and also thanks to project at first participants will feel as a citizen and as well as feel as EU citizens. They will feel like that because they will make real these project activities together and also they will support each other in the activities. All these youngs from different cultures and different countries will make small groups and will take part in the sports activities together. During the activities, group leaders and trainers will evaluate the process of the project. The activities will take place in Rujiena, Latvia at the beginning of August for seven days.

• Discover the intercultural richness through interactive methods
• Learn more about other European cultures
• Get to know more about Rujiena, Latvia territory and country
• Be encouraged to come up with your own ideas and get the support in your home country from your sending organisation to realize them
Alojamento: The town Rujiena is located in northern Latvia, near the borders with Estonia, in the historical region of Vidzeme (anciently part of Livonia). It is 50 km far from Valmiera, 91 from Pärnu and 152 from Riga. It covers an area of 18 km², and the population is 3377.
In Latvia, Rujiena is known for its delicious and multi-flavoured ice cream. We’re often called the ice-cream capital. We think of ourselves more as an art-loving town. Several nationally and internationally known artists were born in Rūjiena. We have several artist studios, an art school, and the town is decorated with many pieces of art.
We connect the future of our town with the art industry and we are committed to the development of the Art Centre, saving and restoring our old wooden buildings, and creating and maintaining our environment and a green zone. The Green Town of the Arts — that is how we would like to call ourselves.
We would like to live in a town in which the inhabitants feel comfortable and satisfied with life and are proud of their town. We would also like tourists to remember Rūjiena as a clean and friendly town in the north of Latvia.
Rujiena has friendcities in Japan, Russia, Estonia Italy and Sweeden.
We will live in Rujiena Secondary school for more info www.rujienasvidusskola.lv. Near the school we have sport hall and river for swiming.
Food:
Everyday’s menu will be tipically Latvian meals, prepared and served for you in our accomodation. If you are vegetarin you should inform us.
Perfil: People interested in the topic of international events, motivated to participate actively in the youth exchange in Latvia as well as stay active after the exchange and develop concrete activities on local level with the support of sending organization.
Working language: English (but it’s also not a problem if you or someone of your group have not a goodknowledge of it). The idea is to learn more about possibility to organize diferent activities in rural area, were population is small and to use foreign laguages are not typical. This project will help to young people more understand why they need to learn other languages and will open for themselfs new cultures.
If in your group will be persons who dont speek english you have to find support person who can help to comunicate with others. Our project will be more self-expression by music, games sport and installation etc. – all what will help young people without any special English knowledge to integrate.

Descrição: Workshops:
Each workshop will be coordinated by 1 Coordinator and 1 Assistant. Every Participants should attend to each workshop. In some of workshops we will built teams than will be a competetion between the teams. The coordinators of the workshops, together with the coordinator of the project, will choose the fixed number of participants for every workshops. More details will be discused before youth exchange.
Rules:
No drugs, no alcohol, respect of nature, respect of each other, cleaning, reduced noise in the evenings and at night, to be on time.
