Resumo: „Voice of M.E.“ is a Youth Exchange on intercultural dialogue through the means of turntablism and discussions. Through this dialogue we aim to enhance the youngsters abilities to market themselves as artists and to increase their knowledge on taking initiative, being original, unique and standing out for one’s opportunities There will be 30 participants from 5 different countries – France, Italy, Estonia, Portugal and Germany – youngsters from these countries will all spend time together for 6 days in Pärnu, which is the summer capital of Estonia, and discover their differences and goals in common and find ways to upgrade their skills in every way, especially in everything involving turntablism. Music is a fundamental part of youth development and it’s also a part of all young DJ-s identities.
It’s a way of communication and self-expression, but it’s also an art form and can be a way to make a living. This exchange will help youngsters see different ways of how to make a living for themselves, from their beloved hobby. The goal will be achieved through non-formal education – i.e. through working in steam groups, discussion, learning by doing and „each one teach one“ – youngsters sharing their knowledge.
Perfil: We would also like to very strongly emphasize that the participants need to have some sort of DJ experience before or at least really-really take interest in this field. Everything is detailedly set up for this exact subject, so we'd very strongly suggest that at least 3-4 people have some sort of prior DJ experience.
